Say if you had a son who you knew to ba a believer. Would you sacrifice him in order to save your neighbours 3 sons who you knew to be unbelievers?

I guess that's what God did ... so if you were one of those 'what would Jesus do' people you would say 'yes'. But, if you're one of the 'thou shalt not commit murder' people you would say 'no'. Oh, wait ... now were you saving their earthly lives or their heavenly lives? That would have to factor in. I've gotta go back and read your question more carefully.
